Im an amateur but not this bad!!!I guess is a dell xps.

Came in with a short circuit on power jack when plugging

Daaaaamn. Got a bank on this board.lol.. 1 hr and no advance. Gave up on this one..why I gave up? It had previously been worked on and too many limits with the tools I have. This looks like a reballing job. Even my soldering tip is broken.. in bout to strike up in this piece!!. :( sad lol.

Did the unthinkable but look at the blob of solder on that chip.

Dell XPS..dead

Came in dead, short circuit on charger as soon as he plugged in.

Eye check didn't show much so I had to crack it open...this is what I found, burnt chip.
I was praying to get one of these since I've never seen a burnt one.

Annoying boot/startup message...toshiba

Customer came in with this bad boy running as fast as a snail..5-10 minutes to get to log in screen.

Let's take a quick look...battery was ok, memory doing fine too, virus free, but Windows looks corrupted.

Looks like Boot msg checks for peripherals and read the msg "not enough space in runtime area. BIOS data will not be available."

Being me, I went deeper and cracked it open..there she is, circuit naked shows what could be the cause. Battery Solder leads came off the board.

Another 1...dead. Compaq nc6310

No power, no charging lights, charger is ok..let's take a deeper look.

Little dirt, enough to cause overheating issues. Found 3 mosfets giving some weird readings.

Compaq dv2000..dead

Costume walked in with this thing dead. No display. No lights anywhere, she's using off brand charger which is 19v, when laptop requires 18.5...but still, dead.
Beside lint, I don't see much that could be causing the power issue. Some voltage testing tell me that the small cap behing power jack is getting 19v on one side but the outer side.

Maybe the problem is a mosfet or a cap, but all I have is a multimeter and testing can go so far.

Dell d430...vintage gets replicated

These little buggers came in to get clone. I thought it would be a breeze, turns out, they come with a 1.8" hd and no cd bay.
Thinking of the best, fastest way to do it...
Little challenging without the right tools...2 hrs in, 10 machines done and going. Using only 2 flash drives. 12 mins each machine.

The usual..dv9000

Came in with a video problem, no display, boots up fine, battery light..etc.
Took it apart and toasted it up a bit.

ta-da!!!!
