Brand new DELL I7

Customer brought this brand new baby in for a broken power jack...it only took me 5 minutes to find out the issue...spending a little time and getting your hands dirty from time to time  does wonders plus it saves u money..take a look
He was just a little aggresive with the power supply and.broke the tip off and the broken piece got stick inside...got my tweezer, pull the piece out, plugged it in and voila!!

Acer aspire

Customer brought in his laptop not working, dead, finito..he claimed that it just stopped working out the blues...of course I rarely expect customers' words to be true, so I went in n started my usual visual physical inspection..everything was in order so I pulled out the tool and went in deeper, took this thing apart and guess what I found out!!! SOMEONE HAD WORKED ON THIS BEFORE.. guess how I found out...take a look at the pictures...(sigh) amateur tech with a screwdriver..watch out!!
Put everything back together the RIGHT way and guess what.. it came back to life..duh!

HP TX1000... No video.

Everybody knows about the dreaded nvidia chip. Fix that using reflow machine, but it almost cause a major issue, as the plastic tape started shrinking during reflow process taking some chips off the board.
What's unbelievable is IT STILL WORKS!! But no video on external monitor because the chips were part of the VGA circuitry.

Dell D610... Dead. Eaaaasy fix!

Sometimes I'm just lucky and run into these easy-to-fix units.
Customer brought it in dead, no lights anywhere, with or without charger.
A quick inspections solved the issue, which was missing screws in the power panel, so it wasn't making any contact with motherboard. 2 hr job turned out to be 5 min job.

Aghhhh!! Forgot to take photos on finished job :(

iPad screen replacement..

Ahhhh, at last, my first iPad screen job, I won't even lie, I was pretty excited when I got this baby. Took my time.. Beautifully done, edges look like nothing happened, I've seen pretty sloppy jobs for quick bucks. I always leave the protecting plastic, so the customer knows its not USED, they also look pretty happy peeling it off.

Toshiba m505..stuck on bios screen.

Customer brought this one with a bios issue. Stuck on splash screen, OS never loads. "not enough space in runtime, smbios data won't b available".

Tried many things but what made it work was a little heat to
Bios chip. Don't fry it, just 'til u see solder glistening.
I hope I helped u save money.

Fake re-do=free work and parts.DV6000

Just a warning for pc stores/techs out there..
One of our customers bought this laptop along with others 2 weeks ago
With a video issue, so I fixed the issue, but today he bought the same laptop with same issues plus more. Now it just turns on and off, and it just loops until unplugged.
Here at the store, they fix those issues if they happened again at no cost.
Funny thing is, I open the laptop which was exactly the same dv6000 but they switched the mobo, of course it has other issues, because its been previously worked on...they failed!!
I'm not the store owner so I proceed to fix, because this customer brings in lots of work.
So make sure you have a some way to identify which computer you worked on, that way you don't lose money.
P.S: I found out they switched the board on me when I got suspicious, laptop missing screws and the terrible job they did, which was dangerous, using aluminum on top of video chip.

The work area

This is where all the fun magic happens..I little messy though, mind you that as manager/technician I'm 70% of the time alone and it gets a little rough sometimes.keeping up with customers, answering phones and fixing pcs, but I like what I do.

Toshiba satellite a505.... dead.

Costumer brought it in dead, he had previously worked on it, tried to changed power jack, ended up with a bigger issue.

He broke the frame and used some compound to fix car radiator to keep power jack in place...just messy...lol.

Not one of my proudest jobs, but the store owner is a tough cookie. I would've used some heat and shrink tubes, and something else to reform the frame, but I have to used what's available. for now electrical tape and silicone did the job.

Toshiba satellite...freezing, overheating and shutting down issues

Common issue on m
Laptops lint accumulates on heat sink which blocks airways for computer to breath and cool down, but instead it suffocate and shuts fornication to protect itself from further damage.
Like oil change in cars, anybody is capable of doing but they rather pay someone like me to do the dirty work, which I have no problem doing while getting paid.

DV6000...video issue...look!

Customer claims video just went away. Laptop's charging light come on when plugged in, and it TRIES to start, but it just loops on/off.
As nasty as it is, can't complaint, this is a dirty as its gonna get.
Little alcohol and heat do wonders......put back together...voila!!!!
